Year 9 students are able to undertake the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award as an elective. The Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze Award Scheme is an eight-week program designed to prepare students for the entry stage of the award. The award has four components:

  1. Voluntary Service – donating your time to genuinely helping others
  2. Skills – encouraging the development of personal interests, creativity or practical skills
  3. Physical Recreation – encouraging healthy behaviours and improvement of skills
  4. Adventurous Journey – encouraging a spirit of adventure and discovery whilst undertaking a journey in a group.

Undertaking the above four components provides our students with opportunities to develop important life skills, to increase employability and to encourage creativity. While the Bronze Level is offered in Year 9, students are encouraged and supported in their independent pursuit of a Silver and Gold level award.
