Each year, students in Years 7 to 9 take part in a year-level camp. Our camps are designed to challenge students, both mentally and physically, and to encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a supportive environment. Students participate in a variety of outdoor activities that allow them to appreciate their natural environment while building stronger relationships with their peers.

Year Level Camps

The Year 7 Camp takes place at Lake Tyres and occurs within the first few weeks of Term 1. A range of team building and learning activities are covered throughout camp that encourage students to build relationships and a sense of belonging in their Core class. Koorie Art and cultural session, Fishcare session, canoeing, bike riding and adventure race are but a few of the engaging activities students undertake while at camp.

Year 8 students take part in their camp at Banksia Peninsula. This camp gives students a taste for the local environment and showcases the various activities they may want to pursue in Outdoor Education in later years at Nagle College. They take part in mountain biking, canoeing and bushwalking. Students spend both nights in tents and cook their dinners on Trangia stoves under the guidance of staff.

Year 9 students take part in the Urban Camp Experience in Melbourne. The program is designed around life experiences and self-growth. The Urban Camp is gender-based and takes place over a week.

While in Melbourne students take part in activities such as Shrine of Remembrance, Australian Catholic University tour, city amazing race and an elective activity. The elective activity selection includes: rock climbing, Melbourne Zoo, Melbourne Aquarium, ice-skating, Bounce and MCG tour.

Students will be allowed to explore and navigate the city in small groups and experience some of what the ‘most liveable city’ has to offer.

The students are also involved in a two-day program at the College focussing on health and well-being for teenagers. Over the two days, students increase their knowledge and are challenged on a variety of topics including legal issues for teenagers, a self-defence session, meditation and Online/Cybersafety.

The boys only sessions are:
