Mr Neville Powles, Principal

Welcome to the Nagle College website. The information presented throughout this site endeavours to illustrate the educational opportunities we offer. A range of information about our ethos and culture provides an appreciation of what Catholic education at Nagle College looks like, and the importance we place on delivering an educationally challenging environment which meets the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

We live in rapidly changing times; education is more important than ever. Working in partnership with parents, we build a student's capacity as a learner. We aim to develop motivated and reflective learners who show ownership and take action. This will enable students to adapt and adjust to the many changes they will face in their future.

"At Nagle College we are mindful of the long tradition upon which we are building; a tradition of Catholic education commenced through the wonderful work of the Presentation Sisters and more recently the education provided by lay staff and the leadership of the Salesian Order."

We are regularly reminded by past students of the appreciation they have for the educational experiences, the personal development and the values within which they were educated.

Our current students continue in this tradition, receiving their education in modern facilities supported by dedicated teachers utilising contemporary methodologies and able to access suitable resources. The spacious grounds, ready access to technology, our commitment to providing a safe environment and engaging classrooms are all ingredients for successful outcomes. Our students come to school to work and their work is learning.

In recent times we have enhanced our facilities through the provision of additional contemporary and flexible learning spaces in the Nano Nagle Learning Centre and the Salesian Technology Precinct. The Technology Precinct includes spacious design rooms for materials (wood, plastics and metals), textiles, robotics, electronics and systems, as well as a hospitality kitchen. We have recently updated our Masterplan which will see further development and updates to our facilities between now and 2029. Stage 1 will enhance our Performing Arts Learning Area and include a 300 seat theatre and additional music tuition and drama facilities. These enhancements demonstrate the College's commitment to provide the best possible learning for students.

The developing rainforest adjacent to the Mitchell River further demonstrates the practical nature of our education and commitment to sustainable practices.

Our students receive a Catholic education which provides them with an experience of Catholic celebrations and traditions and an encouragement to live out the Gospel values with a commitment to be socially active in their communities. All students study Religious Education which includes a range of options in the senior levels. They are called on to be people of hope; a hope demonstrated by and through the example of staff.

"We have tremendous confidence in the future of the young people of Nagle College."

You are encouraged to consider the secondary education we offer in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland, and we invite you to visit us and see for yourself what we have to offer.
